Psychic Kids: Paranormal Children on A&E TV

Last night, I decided to watch this show I recorded on Monday called Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal, on A&E. I remember watching the trailer and found myself becoming oddly overwhelmed. I guess the words "Physic Kids" caught my attention long enough to make me record it. While watching, you're introduced to three little girls (ages 10-17), all of whom have physic powers. None of them are related, but they all share a very similar feeling of fear and confusion over their psychic abilities. Here is how A&E describes the show In this special spotlighting psychic kids, we will focus on three compelling psychic and/or mediumistic kids (ages 10-17) as they learn to manage the gift they have been given. Like real life "Heroes", these kids feel isolated and alone, set apart from the other "normal" kids because of the burden of their powers. We will meet them at their home, in their own environment, to experience what they are dealing with before they come to a very special three day "camp" that will offer invaluable support and guidance from the professional psychics. Paranormal State psychic Chip Coffey helps these kids through this three day transformational experience. When I hear the word "Psychic" I think of that Jamaican lady "Ms Clio". That lady was as fake as Milly Vanilly's singing. But, this show seems interesting. It's about the kids dealing with these anomalistic gifts. You also get an inside look on how the family's deal with it. Last nights episode got me a little scared at time, so I can only imagine how the family's must feel. One little girl said spirits scream at her and push her out of her bed at times. (Oh hell no!) Can you imagine that? As weird and unbelievable as it sounds, I think I'll keep watching. If you're interested in learning about the show. You can go to the website www.A&E.com, the show airs Monday nights at 10pm.

Weezy = Platinum

It's true, your boy Lil Wayne is official "THE MAN". You'd be a fool to think he wouldn't go platinum, but what's impressive is it all happening in the first week. With major declines in record sales, you can't help but to believe miracle do happen. I'm sad to say I didn't go buy the album. A friend of mine did, and said it wasn't that great and she's a die had Weezy fan. So, instead I spend the money on dinner (a sista gotta eat). However, I did hear a few tracks off the album that were cool, so maybe I'll borrow it from her later.

AND THE WINNERS ARE.....THE CELTICS!!!!!

WE WON BABY!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Good Morning to all my Celtic's fans!!! Last night we did it baby! Did you see it? I mean, did you REALLY see it? I was hype, like I was standing in the bleches. LMAO! That game was off the hook! KG, Ray Allen, and MVP Paul Pierce took it all the way! Sorry LA fan's, but you got your asses handed to ya! 131-92 Celtics. I'm not gonna get into to much detail because, I don't want to embarrass myself with the NBA lingo (lord know I no nothing about that). But I am gonna say this, The Celtics went to work on the Lakers, and god knows it was about time! The Celtics earned the hell outta this win! and they deserve this victory! Good job guys!

Album Review---Usher: Here I Stand

I'm in love with this album, I listen to it almost everyday. Although, it can never be compared to Confession's (which is now classified as a classic) it's still a banger. You can tell how much he's grown threw out the album. Although he didn't write most of the songs, his delivery was on point. Here's my track by track analyses. Love in this Club: I can't lie, when I first heard this song, I wasn't really moved by it. It had to grow on me. I guess I was looking for something more like how I felt when I first heard Confessions and Yeah!. However, I like the beat, it's real smooth and it gives you a nice bouncy feel. The lyrics, are cool. It's really catchy, which is most likely why they made this his first single. Jeezy's verse is cool and Ushers voice is wonder as always. Like it! This Ain't Sex The melody gives it a MJ feel which I like alot. The lyrics are well developed, but I cant say it's one of my favorites. Don't hate it! Trading Places Love IT! This song is hot. The lyrics are crazy (prop's to The Dream)The flow of the song is crazy (gone get it, get it, get it, get it, get it) lol love that part. The way his voice goes so high at the end makes me shiver all over! In other words "He's going in!" (Right A-Lova) LMAO. Moving Mountains OMG This is my song! The Dream worked his magic once again. The lyrics are profound. I was drawn to it as soon as I heard it. The beat fits extremely well, the fast and slow motion, and the high and low pitches are genius. Over all, this is a must listen. Love it! What's your name. Feat Will.I.AM Hate it! Pray for you This is the sweetest thing I've ever heard him sing. It's personal and I respect that more than anything because, he opened up and it's so real! Something Special I get an old school feel from this one. Something I could catch my mother playing on the weekends. Robin Thicke wrote it, and it defiantly has his touch. It's easy on the ears to say the lease. Like it! Love You Gently Love! Love! Love this joint! This song goes hard all the way!!! Raheem DeVaughn! OMG your a musical genius! As soon as it come on, your taken back to when "real" R&B music felt good. The breakdown puts this song in the league of the greats. It's one of the best R&B joints I've heard in a long time. The arraignments, the vocals, and the lyrics are off the wall. The beat omg.... one word... graceful. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Best Thing Feat. Jay-Z I mean, how can you go wrong with "The Great" Jay-z on the track? Love it! Before I met you This is one of my favorites! The words are extremely sentimental, honest and believable. I love the high pitched(YOU) too! Brian Cox did a great job on this one! Love it! His Mistakes Can't you tell Ne-yo wrote this one? He's great at making slow extravagantly emotional songs. Love it! Appetite I like how he gave us a mental picture. The choirs is crazy, the way it's broken down when the beat comes in is amazing. Love it What's a man to do Cant say I'm in love with it, but it's cool. it took me a couple listens to understand the lyrics, but I finally got it. It also gives me a Ne-Yo feel. Nice beat! Lifetime It takes a little to long to come . I like the mellow feel, which makes it real easy to grove to. The lyrics and arrangements give it a real nice old school feel also. Love in the club part two Okay I know some of u might not agree but, when I heard this I felt like it was just thrown together. It was as if not much thought was put into the lyrics. Like somehow Usher ran into Beyonce at the studio, and said "Hey! you wanta do a remix real quick?" and threw lil Wayne on the track just for the hell of it. Now don't get me wrong, I like the song, but I feel like it could have been done better. Here I stand Great Track indeed! I get a Floery, jazz feel from it! I like it alot! It's a great he dedicated it to his wife! Good job. I grade this Album with an A-.

Album Review--Ashanti: The Declaration

OMG NOOOOO! I had so much hope for this album, and yet again I was left disappointed. Ashanti, it's been four years! FOUR YEARS and you come back with "I got that Good Good" ??? You cant be serious. Here's my track by track analyses Track Two: The way that I love you, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! If you go down to my previous post, I commented on the video to this song, and expressed my admiration for it. The beat is crazy, the lyrics are sick and you can feel her growth. Wonderful track none the less. Track Three You're Gonna Miss: I cant say I hate it. However, the lyrics are weak, the beat is real lite and poppy which is cool in a way, and she using the T-Pain instrument (no no). It almost sounds like it should've been on her first album. Track Four So Over You: I'm feeling it! The melody gives it a summer feel which is cool. I like the breakdown before and in middle of the choirs. DarkChild killed the beat! The lyrics are...better then track two. Like it! Track Five Struggle: There's something that's not right about this song. The beat is lite, but it would be better if you didn't listen to the rapping styled singing. It's funny because if you remember Nelly and Tim McGraw's song "Over and Over" it sounds exactly the same. Dont like it! Track Six Girlfriend: This is more of a slow love making song. The lyrics are good, it's hard to go wrong with this kind of melody. Like it! Track Seven Things you make me do. Feat. Robin Thicke: This is a very sensual song. I like it alot. Robin sounds great. They compliment one another voices well. The lyrics are hot and the beat is very smooth and relaxing. Like it! Track Eight In These Streets: Okay first off, rename the song please. Stop with all the "being hood" mess! I'm not feeling it! I'm also not really feeling the song. The lyrics are cool, but I feel like she was all over the place on this one. Th beat is real mellow and I enjoyed that, but i feel like she was trying to hard with the vocals. Dont like it! Track Nine Good Good: OMG are you serious? JD! Why did you do this to her? This is pure bullshit! HATE IT! Track Ten Body On Me: Is this a remake of Mezmerized? Come on now!!! Haven't you guys learned from your mistakes yet? Acon? please stop the madness! Track Eleven Mother: LOVE IT! This song is perfect! Very heartfelt and poetic. Her vocals are great, and the lyrics are amazing. I think it's sweet she made a song for her mother. Like it. Track Twelve Shine: The typical up lifting song. The kids at the end sound really cute! like it! Track 13 The Declaration: Love it! This song goes pretty hard. I can see this being her next single because the rest of the song don't compare. The beat is crazy, the lyrics are real because she declaring her position in the game. Plus I believe she talking about Irv Gotta (just a thought) lol. Over all, I'll Grade this album with a C+. Ashanti, I don't want to give up on you, but you're making it very hard for me not to.

Why hasn't there been a Black Bachelorette?

For some reason I've been watching the Bachelorette on ABC. If you haven't heard, reality shows have taken over the world, and will lead us into abomination. Whatever happen to writing a scrips and sticking with it? My theory to the mayhem is, with the sky rocketing gas prices, global warming, and the declining economy, people are starting to lose brain cells. Which is why we are subjecting ourselves to such detestable behavior... I miss the good old days. Why hasn't there ever been a Black person to become the Bachelor or the Bachelorette? I'm not in any form a racist, but I can't help but point out the obvious. Also, if a black person ever gets on the show, there off within the first couple of episodes. What's up with that? Some say the Flavor of Love was the "black" Bachelor. Hell No! That show was ghetto, disrespectful to women, degrading, and dramaful, which in return, makes for get TV lmao! But seriously, why can't we get a brake? When will it be our turn America?

Доброе утро! (Good Morning in German)

Yo! Yo! Yo! What's going on everybody? Second day of the work week!!! Aren't you excited? Blah! Blah! Blah! Okay, maybe not. It's 100 degrees here in TX. Yeah you read it right. It should be against the law to be this hot. I mean really, why is it this hot? I would rather it be a good 75-80, that's perfect. Today should be a regular Tuesday for me. I have nothing special planned, just work as usual. Unless something interesting happens to distract me, I'll be sitting at my desk doing nothing as usual. Lata!

My Weekend Festivities

I'm gonna to get a little more personal on this one if you don't mind. :-) For the last few weeks, Ive been having the worst luck I've ever had in my life. (Okay maybe not, but it sure did feel like it.) For starters, My uncle passed away from a heart attack while driving about a month ago. (RIP Uncle George, Love you always). Then I locked my keys in my car twice in one week and had to pay 35.00 each time to get then out. After that, I lost my wallet with all of my credentials in it and it's hell getting all of that info back. Which means I had no ID on my 21 B-day. :-( Then, my so called friends cancelled on my B-day dinner. (Ya no who ya'll are and best to believe, I will not forget that one!) But to top it off, my job only paid me for three day because I was out of town for my uncle's funeral. (They didn't tell me they where going to do that). Talk about pissed! Then the damn bank wouldn't give me my damn money because I didn't have valid ID. (These MF see me every other week and now they wanted start this mess? I can't believe it!!) So just when I was about to give up on it all, and possible kill someone with my bare hands, I spoke to someone who turned it all around! (You no who you are :-)) They were able to make me see the glass as half full, appose to half empty (because lord knows I was crying almost everyday for the past week) Much thanks to you! My weekend started on Thursday. I had sooooo much fun just hanging out and enjoying the evenings festivities (sorry cant discuss). Then on Friday, I went to work. Fridays at my job feel like second Wednesdays because it's so boring! But, because I was feeling a lot better about my life, Friday felt like an actual Friday. Later on that night, I went to the moves with a friend to see The Hulk. Now, I'm not a big fan of the Hulk to say the least, but I really enjoyed it. I most likely wouldn't watch it again though. After that we went to dinner, it was very nice :-). Saturday, I went out to Lake Travis because a fiend of mine was having a bday party. We had a good old time listening to music, drinking, eating, and talking mess. One thing I realized, when ever you go out to the lake, the pool, the beach, or a water park, when it's time to go, you always need to take a long nap (or is that just me?). Sunday was an adventure. My friend Shirren and I went to Schlitterbahn Water Park as a bday gift to me. Man did we have fun. Although my hair is jacked (lol) I really had a good time. We were some big kids up in there jumping around acting a fool. Once I got home from that, I took yet another nap (they put some sleepy pills in water). Once I woke up, the game was on. LAL vs BOS. I was hype! Although LA won last night, BOS is gonna take it all the way! (Yeah I said it!!! Who want it?) To avoid any altercations, I'll reframe from further comments about the game. Since the game ended after 11 I decide to go back to sleep. Now I'm here writing. I'm still feeling good, so hopefully my bad luck strike is over. Only time Will tell though.

Happy Belated Birthday To ME!

Good Morning Everyone! It's a wonderful Monday morning and I feel good. Most of you might not know this, but my Birthday was June 10. So that means, I'm finally 21!!! DRINKS FOR ME!!! lol. However, my B-day didn't go as planned, but it's okay because I have all year to celebrate. Most people say once you turn 21 u wont want to celebrate anymore. Forget that! I'm celebrating every B-day I have! I'm proud to be alive and celebrating my birthday is my way of saying, thank you to the man up stairs. I cant wait to get back home to NY to celebrate though. I miss my family and friends so much. I also miss the city. Austin, TX has no comparisons to NY (which is a good and bad thing). So when I go home, I really enjoy being there! I'm gonna party my booty off as soon as I touch down! So friends and family, get ready!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEE!!!! P.S. I still want gifts when Iget there! Don't think I forgot! lol

It's been a while!

God, does this feel good! I've missed writing so much, and I'm disappointed in myself for being away so long. It's June 13, 2008 and it has been three months since the last time I wrote an entry. :-( WOW! I hadn't realized it had been that long. My how time flies when you're.... sleeping!. When I started this blog, I envisioned it being about entertainment solely. I wanted to talk about any and everything surrounding entertainment. Celebs, events, T.V. shows, movies, music ext. So I started out writing about A list celebs and how they lived their lives. However, after a month or two of doing that, I got really bored and sick of writing about things everyone already new. There are over 1000 websites dedicated to entertainment, and how was I going to stand out among the rest. So, one day I decided to change my writing direction. I wanted to write about things most people didn't know about. Something fresh and new, something I understound very well. I sat back in my computer chair one day, and thought long and hard about what to turn my direction towards. Then, it finally hit me. There was one thing I new better than anything in the world. One thing I could express effortlessly. The story of Brittany Davis! No one can write better about me than I can. So, with that said, I was convinced. However, I didn't want to come off conceited and self absorbed, so I decide against writing solely about my life. I also wanted to talk about current events that were interesting to someone who didn't know me personally. (But between me and you, I just didn't want things to get boring only talking about me). One month in, I was already in love with the project. It was so refreshing, and fun. Some days I'd talk about health care, and influential African Americans. Than the next I'd talk about my day at the park with my nieces and nephews. I've always tried to be versatile with my writing style. I just hope you guys can appreciate my wishy washy ways Ha-ha. My dream is to become a TV Corespondent and eventually have my own talk show. (I'll be ecstatic once that happens). But for now, writing is my outlet. I'm able to express myself freely and most importantly, openly. I'm looking forward to getting back in to blogging. It's my favorite pass time lol. So until my fingers hit the keyboard again, take care guys! luv ya!
